If we want to prove something, we must have a basis on which to prove it. We have several ways we prove our love for God. We prove our love for Him by believing Jesus died on the cross for our sins and accepting Him as our savior. We then want to follow God’s will as Jesus did when he prayed, Father, not my will but thine, be done.[Luke 22:42]..John 21:17 He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of John, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.

The Real King
Posted by bli63 on August 26, 2009
We have many nations and many leaders in this world. Some are considered kings and others presidents. Some rule their nations promoting fear and hate. Some political leaders will go to any means to discredit a leader they don’t approve of, and promote violence and hatred. It seems it is all about what party is in power. Which ever party is in control the other will fight to get control back. This is what it has come to. We need to realize that who ever is in place as king or president or what ever the nation calls their leader., was put there for a reason. Through out the course of history kings and queens and other leaders were put in power and taken out by God. It’s still the same God has a plan for every nation whether it be what we like or not. One thing to remember is this; God controls all things and Jesus is still the King of Kings…1Timothy 6:15 which in its own times he shall show, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;

Needs No Teacher
Posted by bli63 on August 23, 2009
Have you ever considered that, God has sought counsel fom no one throughout the history of the world? He needed no teacher to set Him on the right path. He created the universe. He knows all, sees all,. He brings order to chaos. He created us as unique human beings. He loved us so much that He sent His only Son to earth to live, die, and rise again so that everyone that who acknowledge Him as savior and Lord will spend eternity in heaven with Him. Our God needs no help, but he chooses to use us to take His message to the ends of the earth..Isaiah 40:13 Who hath directed the Spirit of the LORD, or being his counsellor hath taught him?

Hate Vs Love
Posted by bli63 on August 19, 2009
Hatred is a monster with an enormous appetite for destruction. It feeds on death. Once hatred destroys the present object of its intention, it seeks the next victim and then the next, and the next. If left unchecked only a barren, lifeless world strewn with death remains. In this way hatred destroys friendships, family’s, churches, business and nations. Love is breathtakingly beautiful. Love understands that sin radiates death and moves to cover up the sin to stop the infection Love cares when we are embarrassed or ashamed, and rather than call attention to our shame or laugh at our red face, it drops a soft blanket of grace over the incident. Love is extravagantly gracious, covering all sin with the beautiful clothing of forgiveness and grace. Jesus redeemed a woman taken in adultery, went home with a cheating tax collector and welcomed a denying disciple. His love covers us. Proverbs 10:12- Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins.

Divine Love
Posted by bli63 on August 16, 2009
The Bible uses different words to distinguish the various kinds of human love from divine love. When expressed in accord with scripture, human love can be a good thing in our lives. However, self interests often can cause it to be selective, conditional, or possessive. Gods kind of love [agape] acts in the best interest of another whatever the cost to ones self. Divine love is unchanging, eternal, forgiving, compassionate, and trustworthy. Jesus commanded His followers to Love the Lord thy God with all thy heart soul and mind…. and thy neighbor as thyself. [Matthew 22:37,39]. By allowing Gods love to flow through us to others can change our lives and the lives of those around us. Human love anchored in divine love is a powerful thing…1Peter 4:8 And above all things have fervent love to yourselves, for love will cover a multitude of sins.

Love
Posted by bli63 on August 14, 2009
..Have you ever heard anyone say I will forgive them but I will never forget? What if God had that attitude toward us? What if he defined love in the same way? We would be in big trouble. 1Corinthians 13, teaches us that love behaves itself and does not seek its own. Love is kind.In this passage of scripture the words for love are taken from the Greek word agape meaning as a love that prizes its object above other things, with an unwillingness to abandon the object. [Thayers Greek lexicon]..That describes how much God loves us–with a love that died for us when He didn’t deserve it. We can ignore God, disobey Him, and mock Him; yet He will love us. we can’t truly know God without experiencing His love, and we know God when we love others.. [1John 4:7-8] 7-beloved let us love one another. For love is of God: and everyone that loveth is born, and knoweth God. 8–He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. 1 John 4:7-8.

The Encounter
Posted by bli63 on August 12, 2009
I was running some errands this past Friday, and as Iwas turning to park at the local $ store a man in a car whipped around and blew the horn. He then turned around and really gave me a cussing like that I have not had in many years. He called me everything you could imagine and then some. I just stood and looked at him. I was sorta caught off guard. After he raged on for a minute or two I said fellow I will pray for you. That seemed to make him madder. He drove off threatening me. Apparently I wasn’t driving to suit him. I was not afraid of him but something kept me from saying anything more. The Lord was with me. The man could have easily beat me up .I was no match for him. Maybe when I was younger but not now…Romans 8:31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

Questions?
Posted by bli63 on August 9, 2009
Here are some questions I am asked a lot. Precisely what are we? where did we come from? If there is a God where did He come from? Who is this Christ you talk about.? How do you know that Christ is Gods Son? How do you know God created all things?. We can quote scriptures all day and some people will not believe. So what is the answer? If you do not believe in God and Jesus the Son. then there are very few things we can say or do make you believe. That comes from deep inside your heart and without the Holy Spirit you can never truly believe . I could give scriptures for all this but would it really matter? That is my question???

Just As I Am
Posted by bli63 on August 6, 2009
The words from this old hymn means a lot to me. It means God will except us just as we are. We don’t have to be rich or well educated or have all kinds of degrees. We sure can’t be saved by how smart we are, or how much money we have, or how many times we attend worship services. If we don’t have Jesus in our hearts then all these other things don’t mean a thing.Walking the isle and being baptizeed will not save you. Only the blood of Jesus saves and you have to repent. And believe. And that is what it takes..John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Being Liked
Posted by bli63 on August 4, 2009
We like to be liked! Being appreciated by others validates our sense of worth and increases our self confidence. Of course the opposite can also be true. Harsh criticism and rejection are like caustic liquids being thrown on our souls. Just a touch of these caustic liquids can cause us to feel like nobodies and shrink from bold living. As followers of Jesus we can draw our worth and confidence from His unfailing love. Then we can have the strength to take on all kinds of onslaughts of disaproval and even rejection. As we draw our life from Jesus, and not the approval of the world, we will be able to live as devoted followers of Jesus even when others mock, reject and hate us…Mark 13:13 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
