Wisdom? Fear

Posted by bli63 on March 13, 2009

Many times we get a fair warning from God and a word to the wise should be sufficient. But so many times Gods Word is not heeded. Like the Christian loan officer who worked in a bank and was well aware that  employees that embezzles funds will eventually get caught.  She decided she was smart enough to beat the system and is now serving time in prison. Or the minister who knew the Word of God like the back of his hand, but lived in what he thought was a secret sanctuary of sexual misconduct. One day he was exposed and lost his wife and ministry. Wisdom  begins with the fear of the Lord. But those who are foolish turn deaf ears to His instruction…Proverbs 1:7 The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of knowledge; but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

the story illustrates the principle very well. Sometimes the voice of God is just a whisper, and we should pay heed. Sometimes the warning is a little louder, and we choose to ignore it. And before we know it, our circumstances shout out “beware” and yet we still plough on. And we fall. But there were signs all along the way!

btw love your blog header logo. Stairway to Heaven?
