I sometimes find myself getting quite angry and upset over things that are happening. There seems to be no morals anymore. Teens having sex in one room while their parents are in the other. Child molesting all over the news. Child abusers running rampant drug and alcohol abuse on every corner. Nudity and sex all over TV. Crooked bankers and politicians stealing from honest working people. I can easily back this up, just turn on the news anytime and it is all there. I don’t watch TV news a lot, to upsetting. I have about gotten to the point that I don’t believe anything I hear and half of what I see. But I know that there is a lot of good people out there. We seem to never hear the good only the bad. I know I shouldn’t be getting angry and I try to remember that God is in control, but I’m just human and I am not without sin. I pray for forgiveness for not always trusting in God to make things right. After all He gave His Son for us. John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only-begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. And that is something we can count on.

How Long?
Posted by bli63 on February 26, 2009
A very close friend and brother in Christ got really bad news today. He has an aneurysm that is very bad[6.7mil.] and can’t be operated on. The question is how long will he live before it bursts? I told him no one is guaranteed tomorrow we must live for today because we do not know what the future holds. But if we are a child of God we know how it will end. I heard about a man who dropped dead of a massive heart attack this man did not have high blood pressure or high cholesterol no symptoms he was just 60 yrs old. But suddenly his live was over. We never know when our lives will end on earth. We do know however if we are saved where we will go. And that is a great feeling…John 11:25-26 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The person who believes in me, even though he dies, will live.
26 Indeed, everyone who lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe that?”

From The 90’s
Posted by bli63 on February 24, 2009
“In 1924 the Soviet revolutionist Leon Trotsky promised that with the abolition of God would come a new breed of man. ‘Man will become immeasurable stronger, wiser and subtler; his body will become more harmonized, his movements more rhythmic,’ Trotsky wrote. ‘The average human type will rise to the heights of an Aristotle, a Goethe, or a Marx. And above this ridge new peaks will rise.’ Today’s Russian laughs at such words, but not our philosophical elite. Instead they promise a new breed of human who can be moral without God. Could we be so blind in the enlightened ’90s? Where will we find the motivation to love? To be honest, selfless, good? History demonstrates that apart from Jesus Christ we will never find it within ourselves.” — Graeme Crouch>> Sound familiar? ..1Timothy 6:11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

Why Work?
Posted by bli63 on February 21, 2009
What motivates people to work? Many people would say they work to make a living. Some just enjoy being productive or active. Others may see their work as an expression of themselves. Some may be driven by ambition or the desire to achieve. Yet others view their work as a calling. How about the attitude that with which people approach their work? Some may approach work with bitterness, anger, or jealousy; others with eagerness, joy, and purpose. Paul’s words to the Colossian believers lead to another question. It may be a greater question. For whom do we work? When we do our work heartily as to the Lord even our attitudes and motivations can be changed so that others can see Christ in us…Colossians 3:23 whatsoever ye do, work heartily, as unto the Lord, and not unto men;

Why Me?
Posted by bli63 on February 19, 2009
Sometimes we may wonder why things happen the way they do. It may seem like God is picking on us. In order to answer this question maybe we need to look at what we are doing. It just might be that we are bringing a lot; if not all of this on ourselves. While its true God does chastise us if we are Christians we must remember that good things are of God and evil things are of Satan…1Timothy 4:4 For everything God created is good, and nothing should be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving…Matthew 6:13 And never bring us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’

Amazing
Posted by bli63 on February 17, 2009
Written anonymously on the walls of a medieval castle were the following words: You call me Master and Obey me not. You call me Light and See me not. You call me Way and Walk me not. You call me Life and Desire me not. You call me Wise and Follow me not. You call me Fair and LOve me not. You call me Rich and Ask me not. You call me Eternal and Seek me not. You call me Gracious and Trust me not. If I condemn you, Blame me not.

God Is Faithful
Posted by bli63 on February 15, 2009
We have all probably had someone to promise to help us with something only to let us down. Maybe a friend failed to show up at a get together or didn’t follow up on a promised phone call. Maybe our friend promised to stand by us during a trying and difficult time, then ran when things got really tough. We can be very thankful that God is faithful to bring us through the hard times. He knows what things look like on the other side of the turmoil. He will carry us through the raging waters of grief or the torrent of despair. He will help us stand against the winds of frustration that threaten to blow us away. We may not always understand His methods, But we can always trust His heart..1Corinthians 1:9 God is faithful, through whom ye were called into the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

A Lasting Hope
Posted by bli63 on February 13, 2009
Lots of things fade with time. Memories, paint, youth, glory, jeans. In fact I can’t think of anything that doesn’t eventually loose its intensity. Everything even humans are bound to fade with time. As we grow older our hearing or our eyes may require assistance, and we don’t seem to have the strength we once possessed when we were younger. However there’s one thing in our lives that will never fade. We can build our lives on a sturdy foundation. The unchanging hope that we have in Jesus. He will be with us at death and into the next life. He guarantees that our sins won’t keep us from enjoying eternity with God.As we live in the confidence of a lasting hope, we can say as did Job..Job 19:25 But as for me I know that my Redeemer liveth, And at last he will stand up upon the earth:

A Good Report
Posted by bli63 on February 10, 2009
Everybody loves a good report. A good report card from school. A victory in sports. A great catch on a fishing trip. A good closing bell. A good word from our doctor. Maybe a great Sunday school attendance or a great revival with many people saved. We all love a good report. This must have been the case when Paul and Barnabas brought their report to their sponsoring church in Antioch. There was great excitement they had preached the word faithfully but experienced mixed results. They were run out of town, theratened lauded as pagan gods . But God had blessed it all. A few Jews and many Gentiles had accepted Jesus as their Messiah. Churches were established. It was really a good report..Act 14:27 And having arrived, and gathering the church they related all that God had done with them, and how He had opened the door of faith to the nations.

Maturity?
Posted by bli63 on February 8, 2009
Maturity varies while one person may be mature when reaching adulthood, while someone older may have never grown up. We nay be able to measure maturity by the development of ones character as demonstrated through ones choices. We must make a conscious decision to develop maturity. Scripture provides the means to measure maturity in Christ: we choose to be unified in the faith and well versed in the knowledge of the Son of God. Spiritual maturity, then is measured by our relationships. We must live in harmony with fellow believers and walk faithfully with Jesus, growing in our personal relationship with Him…Ephesians 4:13 until all of us are united in the faith and in the full knowledge of God’s Son, and until we attain mature adulthood and the full standard of development in Christ.
