Does God grant special protection to His children in battle dangers? Listen to this. A group of soldiers on the Anzio bridgehead in Italy were cut off from their company by German machine gunners. When the farmhouse they were defending was directly hit, all but three of the fifteen were wounded. The officer lay in the rubble but was able to reach for his Daily Light. The text he saw proved to be, “When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.”{Isaiah 59:19} Happily the officer read it aloud, declaring his assurance that all of them would be rescued. True enough, in a few minutes an Allied hospital truck drove up and the entire group was helped in and carried to safety. But the strange thing about it was that German machine gunners watched the operation from their trenches only fifty yards away and never fired a shot, while a German sentry at the crossroads appeared equally indifferent. All agreed that it was nothing less than a direct intervention of God. –Wesleyan Missionary

Give Thanks
Posted by bli63 on November 27, 2008
We all think of thanksgiving as a day to eat and be with friends and family. Sit around the tv and watch football games. Turky day as some call it. I like to think of it as a day to give thanks where thanks is due. Thats to our lord and saviour Jesus Christ for going to the cross and shedding His blood so that we all could be saved. Here are some scriptures that will bless your heart. Col 3:17 And whatsoever ye do in deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. Heb.13:15 By him let therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continualy, that is. the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. Psalms 50:14 Offer unto God thanksgiving: and pay thou vows unto the most high.<May everyone have a very blessed Thanksgiving>

Growing In Wisdom.
Posted by bli63 on November 25, 2008
Ever notice how a child when they are about one year old starts being so inquisitive? They are constantly touching, and tasting, smelling, pulling, and pushing. They are absorbing the world around them– all of its sites, textures and sounds. They are learning and experiencing new things. Each day brings new things to learn and new abilitys to master. Life in Christ is a journey of discovery. The more we know of Him the more we want to know. With Christ we enter a room filled with great things to master and experience. Just when we thing we have mastered everything in that room . Christ opens another door, and when we look in we realize we have only begun to learn of Him. Growing in Christ is a life long learning experience. As we grow in Him, we become wiser. And as we become wiser, we can handle life better and all its relationships…Proverbs 9:9 Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: Teach a righteous man, and he will increase in learning.

Behind Four Walls?
Posted by bli63 on November 21, 2008
We have a great movement today to reach people who are lost by going beyond the Four walls of the church building. We are learning that buildings or denominations don’t get us to heaven. The love we have for each other and most of all love for our saviour Jesus Christ that is what is important. When we can break the barriers of racism and religions and do what God intends for us to do which is minister to the needs of people who are hurting and lost then we will begin to see Gods blessing once again. This is what the church is all about. It is not about me or you it is about Jesus the only Son of God who died on a cross and arose the third day so all, and that means everyone who calls on His Glorious name can be saved and have eternal life. Now that is what Christianity is all about. And that certaintly is good news. It is not how big a building or worship center you have it is how you worship…Psa 37:38-40 But the transgressors shall be destroyed together: the end of the wicked shall be cut off. 39 But the salvation of the righteous is of the LORD: he is their strength in the time of trouble. 40 And the LORD shall help them, and deliver them: he shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him.

A Blessed Time?
Posted by bli63 on November 19, 2008
We live in a very blessed time. For many, many years God has blessed this land. We have been spoiled. We think that if we want something we should have it. Not later but right now. A lot of people have had it made for so long that they are not going to know what to do as the times get harder. We certainly have turned away from God. When we have 50 in church and 50,000 at a ball game something is very wrong. While we are enjoying ourselves and reaping Gods blessings we should always put Him first giving thanks always for what He has given us. If we continue to ignore God it might just be that one day He ignores us… Just something to think on….Psalm 37:3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.

Good Life
Posted by bli63 on November 16, 2008
Ever think about a new born baby? Here is a life unblemished by the world. Pure, Honest, noble, lovely and admirable are only a few things we see in this new person. Helpless by their selves baby’s depend on others to meet their needs. We as Christians should live lives that are true, honest, just and of good report. Although no one is perfect we should forget what is behind and set our lives on living lives that please God. If we seek God in all things, He will meet our needs. And that is a good life…Philippians 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is fair, whatever is pure, whatever is acceptable, whatever is commendable, if there is anything of excellence and if there is anything praiseworthy-keep thinking about these things.

All Belongs To Him
Posted by bli63 on November 13, 2008
All things whether on earth or in heaven belong to God, in all reality we don’t have anything. Our earthly possesions does not mean a thing to God, its our spiritual readiness to serve Him that God is concerned about. We don’t need to worry so much about earthly things but concentrate on the heavenly things., Serve and give God the Praise and Glory He so richly deserves. Romans 11: 33-36.. 33 Oh the depth of riches both of the wisdom and the knowledge of God. How unsearchable His judgements and untraceable His ways! 34 For who has known the mind of the Lord? or who has been His counselor? 35 Or who has first given to Him , and has to be repaid? 36 For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever amen.

Family
Posted by bli63 on November 11, 2008
Some people today do not take marriage and family serious at all. If our spouses do not live up to our expectations we just simply move on. Divorce does not mean anything. in fact in most cases you don’t have to worry about that because you are just living together anyway. Just go find someone else and live with them.. That seems to be the going thing.. The truth is in a lot of cases it is a cop out. we do not want to except responsibility’s. And if children are involved it is even worse. The Bible teaches against this kind of life. We should try make our family our priority and love our wives, husbands and Children.. I know that life isn’t always a bed of roses. We may not always be able to live with each other in peace. But we should always try and give it all we have. This is what God would have us to do…Colossians 3:17-21 And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
18- Wives, submit yourselves to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. 19- Husbands, love your wives, and do not be harsh with them. 20- Children, obey your parents in everything, for this is pleasing to the Lord. 21- Fathers, do not make your children resentful, lest they become discouraged.[ISV]

Gods Word Is Forever
Posted by bli63 on November 8, 2008
Many of the things around us grow older and loose their usefulness. And we aren’t very old before we realize how fragile and how brief our own lives are. Where can we find stability and lasting truth? We can find it in Gods unchanging Word. His Word will remain though all else may fail./ There will never be a time when we cannot put our total faith in His Word….The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the Word of God shall stand forever. Isaiah 40:8

Beware Of False Teachings
Posted by bli63 on November 6, 2008
We really need to be aware of any religion that does not teach the true word of God. The Apostle Paul warned the Colossians about being mislead by false teachings. Some were teaching that there were spirits besides Christ that needed to be worshipped. Paul said these sources were human and not of God…..Colossians 2:8 Take heed lest there shall be any one that maketh spoil of you through his philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ:
