Why can’t we reach the unsaved? While some are being led to Christ. many, many more are not heeding the call. Have we made church to much like a business? Are we not ministering the true Gospel? Do we focus more on membership than leading the lost to Christ? Are we to busy with our own activity’s to fellowship with new converts? These are just a few questions that we might ask ourselves. Maybe we need to rethink the way we are ministering to lost ones. Maybe we should look at our walk with the Lord and be sure we are practicing what we preach…John 3:15-18 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

E.M.A. Of Life
Posted by bli63 on October 26, 2008
The emergency management agency of life. Who is head of this? God. When we feel overwhelmed with the trials and problems of life. There is always someone we can turn to. Jesus the only true way of overcoming all the problems and things we encounter in this world. The true Ema of life. Only He can give the emergency help we need. No red tape no waiting on others, just Jesus He will intervene and send help through the Holy Spirit, and by His amazing grace and love. The greatest source of help that has ever been the EMA of life Jesus Christ….Luke 11:9-10 And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
10- For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

Ask Seek Knock
Posted by bli63 on October 23, 2008
Asking is a way of life lived with an open hand. to ask is to depend on someone other than yourself. It is very humbling. Asking includes-I don’t know.- I failed.- I ran out.- I can’t find it.- Im not sure.- I don’t understand.- I forgot.- I didn’t listen.- I didn’t care.- I was wrong.- I’m not prepared.-I need more information.- I came up short. There is an interesting dilemma here for Christians. If Christianity is no more than a system that answers all of life’s questions. Then to admit to any of the above shortcomings is to be somthing less than a good Christian..But in our own attempts to be good Christians, we undermine our need for God. We want Christianity to work. We want it to exist in a closed system where every question has an answer, every problem has a solution. We want to show the world a neat clean, open and shut case for Christianity. But in the process we Unknowingly shut out God. Claiming to be wise, we become fools, we exchange the truth of God for a lie and worship the created things[ our system, principles, and formulas,] rather than the creator– who is forever blessed. [see Romans 1:22-25]. Thats why Jesus says we should ask. Asking puts us back on track with God. It assumes we need relationship with Him–a hand-to-mouth spiritual existence. A vunerable daily dependance. In a society that rushes to fill every felt need. that steals away the soul of a person and offers to sell it back at a price. We need to rekindle what it means to ask God.——

Confidence
Posted by bli63 on October 20, 2008
A prisoner conducted a final service for his fellow prisoners. As the service ended, the doors opened and two men entered . “Prisoner …. come with us” Everyone knew what those words meant. He would not be returning. The prisoner and his fellow prisoners exchanged good-byes. To a friend he confided, This is the end— for me the beginning of life. The next day he was hanged. A dear lady in her 90s on the morning she faced surgery for a broken hip she said . After sugery if I wake up in the hospital that will be fine. If I wake up in heaven, that will be wonderful. I am ready to go home. What is the source of such confidence? The ability to face life or death and other trials and problems with confidence comes from a deep, abiding faith in Jesus, who Himself closed His eyes in the assurance that He was secure in the strong but tender hands of the Father….. And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, He said Father, INTO THY HANDS I COMMEND MY SPIRIT: and having said thus, He gave up the ghost. LUKE 23:46

The Great Commandment
Posted by bli63 on October 16, 2008
My grandmothers Bible was filled with notes, poems and pictures. One interesting thought in the flyleaf read:”I still believe in all the Ten Commandments, but I also have a better commandment to love. Therefore I will believe in love, appreciate love, express love, and receive love.” My memories of her always focus on the love she had for God and all people. When asked what the greatest commandment was, Jesus response was to love God with all we are have –heart, soul, and mind. Jesus said unto him, thou shalt love the LORD thy GOD with all thy heart and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. Matthew 22:37

Saved From Freezing To Death
Posted by bli63 on October 11, 2008
A man was making his way over the mountains through a terrible snowstorm. He gradually got weaker and weaker, until at last he stumbled and fell. He said to himself , “This is the end. I shall never be found.” He was too weak to rise, but as he fell his hand struck the body of another man who had fallen in the same place. This first man was unconscious and the man who had just fallen rose to his knees and, bending over the prostrate form, began to chafe his hands and to rub his face until by and by the man’s eyes opened. He had saved another life, but he had also saved himself, for the exercise had kept the life in his own body. And when you have a passion for souls, when you go seeking the lost, when you lift the burdens of others, your own vision of Jesus is clearer, your own hope of eternity is stronger, your own assurance of salvation is greater. –J. Wilbur Chapman

Gods Way
Posted by bli63 on October 7, 2008
Sometimes we wonder why things happen the way they do. Why some families are hit so hard with different tragedies and others seem to go through life with out a lot of grief or heartache. But we have to realize that Gods way and our way may not be the same. While we see only here and now God sees the big picture. Even though I am about to loose my sister at 50 yrs old to acute liver failure. I know God knows best and I will trust Him. I will miss her dearly but I have peace knowing that she is a Christian and will be in the arms of ourLord….My soul melteth for heaviness: strengthen me according to thy word. Psalm 119:28

Family
Posted by bli63 on October 4, 2008
Our family has really had a rough time this week. We found mother Sunday she had been in the floor from 2:00 am until 8:00 am she suddenly lost the strength in her legs and could not walk. She had a stay in the hospital and is better thank the LORD. Then we got a call from my brother in law in VA. telling us that our sister was in critical condition in the hospital. She has liver failure and kidney failure and it sure doesn’t look good for her. She is on dialyses now and also life support. I would covet the prayers of everyone for her. Thanks and may God Bless…… Bro Larry.
