Our natural tendency as humans young or old is to fit in to be accepted by our peers, to be one of the crowd. But as Christians God calls us to be different set apart more like Christ, we are not to follow the pattern of the world in which we live. To achieve this is to be transformed by the renewing of our minds.. We are to be changed. We cannot be transformed on our own; but as we pray for the transforming power that only Christ can give and seek to know God’s mind asking for His leading, then we can find what God’s will is for our individual lives. The good , the pleasing, the perfect will He has just for us. The greatest peace we can know as humans is that we are where God wants us and that we are the work He has for us to do each day…. Romans 12:2 Do not be conformed to this world, but continually be transformed by the renewing of your minds so that you may be able to determine what God’s will is-what is proper, pleasing, and perfect. Troubled Times
Posted by bli63 on September 23, 2008
We are surely living in troubled times. Wall street is trying to go under. Investors are grabbling at what they think is their last hope- oil. I am afraid that even that is not going to stop the downward spiral. A lot of people have lived in the most part very blessed for the last several years. We have had the opportunity that should have brought us closer to God. But instead we fell further away. Now maybe if we live through these troubled times we will once again give thanks to the one who makes all things possible. I pray for God to have mercy. For if we fall into a major depression it will be hell here on earth. People will Kill you for a can of beans. You will not be safe in your on house. Think how bad it is now. It will be lots worse. When the will to survive kicks in their will be no law and certainly no order… I am going to put my trust in my Saviour, my Lord Jesus Christ. How about you? Proverbs 13:9 The light of the righteous rejoiceth; But the lamp of the wicked shall be put out. Psalm 27:14 Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.

The Call
Posted by bli63 on September 19, 2008
The call to follow Christ is a call to sacrificial living. It is a call to be like Jesus, who loves others more than he loves Himself. It is a call to put others before ourselves. Of course this is not in keeping with our culture. Sacrificial living goes against the grain of everything we are taught. At its heart , it goes against our fallen nature to put anyone but self first. But we must never never forget that Christ came to change our natures to be like His. Jesus told His disciples that the love they had for one another would give evidence that they were His disciples. This also applies to us. What a difference Christians could make in the world if we would take Jesus’s admonition seriously! To sum it up love is to be seen in what we do, not merely in what we say. Love one another today Seek his or her good. that will please the Lord. Romans 15:2 Let each one of us please his neighbor for that which is good, unto edifying.

Pray Expecantly
Posted by bli63 on September 16, 2008
Prayer can work for you. My niece Had gastric bypass surgery a year or so ago. And she has had trouble off and on ever since. She had to be admitted to the hospital, And underwent a series of test. Her doctor told her she was going to have to have emergency surgery, We prayed for her not to have to go through the surgery as she had just started a new job and also she has a 18 month old daughter. When the doctor did the last test to make sure about the surgery. The problem had fixed itself. I believe that when we pray expectantly and truly believe God will heal. How about you?..Mark 6:13 And they cast out many demons, and anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed them.

Bad Habits , Destroy Lives
Posted by bli63 on September 14, 2008
On the Western slopes of the Rocky Mountains, a giant Sequoia lies rotting. It was a growing sapling when Christ walked the shores of Galilee. When Columbus discovered America, it was reaching maturity and it looked down from lofty heights during the American Civil War. It seemed destined to live many more centuries. Then, a few years ago, a tiny beetle started to burrow into its bark and lay eggs that would produce other beatles. It seemed like an unequal battle at first, but the few beatles multiplied into hundreds, then into thousands, and finally into millions. First they attacked the bark, then they worked deeper into the trunk, and finally, they were eating the very heart and strength of that magnificent forest giant. Then one day, after withstanding the elements for centuries, the rain came, the winds blew, the lightning flashed, and the giant tree fell. Not because of the elements, but because of the weakening effects of those tiny beatles.
Bad habits do the same thing to people. They slowly take a toll until the day comes when the man or woman fall like that giant tree.

Heaven and Earth
Posted by bli63 on September 11, 2008
We sometimes say about people who would do anything to accomplish a difficult task that they would move heaven and earth to get the job done. Our common saying uses heaven and earth as a way of embracing total effort. The Bible declares that in the beginning God made the heaven and the earth. This phrase includes the totality of the created universe. God has given us to enjoy the totality of our universe. Some people view the expanse of the created order through telescopes , while others look into its intricacy through microscopes. Whether viewed through in its magnitude or seen in minute detail, heaven and earth points us toward God with awe and gratitude. Genesis 1:6 And God said, Let there be a firmament [expanse] [visible ark] in the sky in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.

Where Do We Turn?
Posted by bli63 on September 9, 2008
I have been sick with a bad cold for a few days. It is better praise God. I often wonder where people that don’t know Christ turn when they are sick or in dire need? Sure we can go to doctors and they may be able to help our physical needs But our emotional or spiritual needs they can do nothing about. If we are healthy spiritually we will also be emotionally stable. I am so proud I have someone to share all my needs with. How about you? Matthew 11:28-29-30 Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

What Do You Value?
Posted by bli63 on September 7, 2008
Can a person be wealthy and be rich toward God at the same time? It is more how we value wealth than having it. To be rich toward God requires laying up treasures in heaven, What on this earth could ever be banked in heaven? How about the souls of just persons made perfect? God greatly values us and every convert our our witness touches. He values what ever makes us rich toward Him. God highly values such things as Christ likeness, Christian graces, Kingdom priorities, Good deeds done from right motives, praise from pure hearts and upright lives. Luke 12:21 So is he that lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.

Gods Majesty
Posted by bli63 on September 2, 2008
What is your concept of God? Our view of God will always determine our relationship with Him and the way in which we worship Him. Scripture tells us that unlike false Gods, He does not dwell in man made temples. In fact, He made everything that is and is the master of that creation. This sets Him apart as being unique. This was the thought behind the second commandment that said,” thou shall not make unto thee any graven image” [Ex. 20:4]. God did not make and does not want to be worshipped like the pa gens worshiped their gods. He is a God of self revelation. He cannot be confined to what people can create or conceive. If we were to catch a glimpse of Gods majesty it is highly likely our concept of Him would radically change. In the process, it would change who we allow Him to be in our lives. Acts 17:24 The God that made the world and all things therein, he, being Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;
