Certain sufferings can make us feel ashamed, as if we are unworthy to be in the company of others. An emancitating disease, or one whose name carries a social stigma, or even tragedies like divorce or the rebellion of a child can make us withdraw in shame. During such times we may find it hard to boldly say, “I am a believer. Jesus is my Saviour”. What will people think when our lives are full of scar -producing troubles?–2Timothy 1:12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day. Paul the Apostle challenged his young son in the ministry. Timothy, to never let other peoples evaluations of his difficulties cause him to shrink back from declaring the gospel. Paul knew that whatever difficulties assailed him, Jesus was still Saviour and Lord. None of us are immune from sufferings that can make us feel ashamed. However we have the assurance that “he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

The Power Of Kind Words
Posted by bli63 on May 29, 2008
I love the story about the boy who was walking along the beach after a terrific storm, picking up starfish that had washed up on the shore, and throwing them back into the sea. A man said to the boy: “There are hundreds of starfish on this beach. Do you really thing you can make a difference in saving them?” The boy picked up another starfish and threw it back into the water. “It made a difference to that one,” was his reply. 2 Chronicles 10:7 And they spake unto him, saying, If thou be kind to this people, and please them, and speak good words to them, they will be thy servants for ever. The world is a difficult place, but we can make a difference with even small acts of kindness.

All Are Welcome
Posted by bli63 on May 28, 2008
Have you ever wondered how some churches expect to reach the lost? They never invite anyone for bible study but their church friends, and never visit anyone who is lost. It’s no wonder the church is failing! Jesus invites all people to come to Him. He seeks those who don’t know Him and give them an invitation. Thankfully He doesn’t screen out those who look, act, or believe a certain way. Mat 22:9 Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage. God gives us all an invitation to join Him for all eternity. We sure need to share this invitation with others. We need to let non Christians know that Jesus welcomes them. To stay in our Christian circles feels comfortable. Yet Jesus spent time building relationships so people could know Him.

Praise God For His Kindness
Posted by bli63 on May 25, 2008
Nearly two thousand years ago, Jesus told His small number of disciples that someday the gospel would be preached to the whole world… And this Gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; then shall the end come. Matthew 24:14…. For his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the Lord endureth forever. Praise ye the Lord. Psalm 117:2…. At the time, it seemed like an impossible undertaking. However, we see today that Gods merciful kindness has extended to the furthest reaches of the globe. Psalm 117 is one of the most unique chapters in Gods word. It is both the shortest chapter and the middle chapter of the Bible. May it remind us to praise God for His missionary heart and pray for those who are making sacrifices in other lands to make His love known.

Advice, Good or Bad?
Posted by bli63 on May 23, 2008
There is no shortage of advice in the world today. We truly live in the information age. The television, the Internet, tabloids, and horoscopes abound. If we need an answer? Check statistics, take a poll, or text message a friend. Advice is everywhere. The advice of the world, however, is based on the thinking of the world: it tends to be relative, human, and shortsighted. The world’s advice usually considers only the self at the price of others. Where can we turn to for good solid guidance? We should never fail to ask the One who is never wrong. The One whose words are forever true. The counsel of God has no limits because He has no limits. Psalms 1:1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

What would you do?
Posted by bli63 on May 21, 2008
I wonder What would you do?
If someone yo know got in a bad financial strain. Would you offer to help if you could? Or would you simply say I don’t have it, I would help if I could but I just can’t. The Bible teaches that we are to help one another. Not just with money but with support and love. I wonder what would happen if the next time we called on Jesus for His help if He said I would if I could but I just can’t. Something to think on. John 15:12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
John 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

Stump Time!

Alarmed yet?
The price of oil keeps skyrocketing, food is following close behind, job loss is on the increase. The prices of manufacturing products is also on the increase. These things aren’t going up pennies are dimes they are going up dollars. How much more can we stand? The working and poor people of the world cannot continue to survive if the rich doesn’t quit taking away from them.
If you are making $100,000. a year are more you can last a while but eventually you will begin to feel this impact also. We must turn to God and ask for His help. If something does not happen soon we are headed straight for a full blown depression world wide. However this may be Gods will to teach us a lesson For turning away from Him??? Mat 6:19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
Mat 6:20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
Mat 6:21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

New Covenant
Posted by bli63 on May 17, 2008
The new covenant God made through Jesus was above and beyond the covenant He made with Moses at Sinai. The old covenant fell short in effectiveness because the people could never live up to it. Moses was merely the Representative of the people, but Jesus was the Representative of Almighty God. What the blood of animals could never accomplish, Jesus’ blood provided at the cross; redemption from sin, the promise of the Holy Spirit, and eternal life. Hebrews 9:14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? Hebrews 9:15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

Mercy Of God
Posted by bli63 on May 15, 2008
All things whether on earth or in heaven belong to God, in all reality we don’t have anything. Our earthly possessions don’t mean a thing to God, its our spiritual readiness to serve Him that God is concerned about. We don’t need to worry so much about earthly things but concentrate on the heavenly things., Serve and give God the Praise and Glory He so richly deserves.33 Oh the depth of riches both of the wisdom and the knowledge of God. How unsearchable His judgements and untraceable His ways! 34 For who has known the mind of the Lord? or who has been His counselor? 35 Or who has first given to Him , and has to be repaid? 36 For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever amen. Romans 11: 33-36..

Mothers
Posted by bli63 on May 13, 2008
I feel so blessed that I got to spend another mothers day with my mom she is 84 yrs old and not in the best of health. But I praise the Lord that she is still with me. Because so many have lost their mothers. And mothers day brings back a lot of memorys, But as I try to do on fathers day. We should focus on the good times and memorys we have, and look foward to seeing them again some day. as Jesus promised that we would. Jesus said I go to prepare a place for you. Isn’t that wonderful. John 14:2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. John 14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.__How wonderful the love of Jesus is. May Gods spirit be with all.
