Faith?

Posted by bli63 on April 30, 2008

This is the story of faith. A father dropped his six year old daughter off at school, and told her he would be back and pick her up after school. The father was going to college at the time. When his classes were over he started home. About the time he got there he remembered his daughter. He had forgotten to pick her up. He turned around and raced to the school., and there she stood on the campus no one around but her for everyone had left because by this time it was 4:00 o’clock. He told her he was sorry he had forgotten her and asked if she was afraid. She said no. The father asked why she wasn’t afraid being all alone. She answered because Daddy when you dropped me off this morning you said you would be back and I knew you would.!! Mar 11:22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. Luke 8:48 And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace. If we had the faith in God that the little girl had in her father we would be so much better off.

Prove Our Worth

Posted by bli63 on April 29, 2008

When salt is added to food. it enhances the flavor. We sometimes refer to food with no salt as bland or tasteless.. The food just isn’t quite as good. Jesus pointed out that believers are also to act as seasoning in the world around us. >> Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt has lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. Matthew 5:13. We are to enhance, preserve, and add flavor to our churches, families, and communities by living lives of distinction. Lets let our responses, attitudes,  choices, and communications identify us as servants  who are proving our worth.

The Commision

Posted by bli63 on April 27, 2008

How exciting it is to see how Christ reaches across the barriers of culture and race to grow His church as one Christian shares with another person, who shares with another, who shares with another, who shares with another. And He said unto them, “Go ye into all the world, and preach the Gospel to every creature”. Mark 16:15. If “ye” means every Christian, if all the world means everywhere, and if every creature means everybody, then we can modernize Jesus commission to say, Each Christian go somewhere, either across the street or across the world, and tell someone about Jesus. Tell them what John 3:16 means. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. What a privileged responsibility the Lord has given us to be His hands, His voice, and His witness.

Gifts Of The Holy Spirit

Posted by bli63 on April 26, 2008

We all have a spiritual gift. This gift comes from the Holy Spirit which distributes to each one as He wills. We are all one body but with many parts. Although you might not think you are spiritually gifted we each have this gift. God may already be using you and you don’t recognize your special gift, but others do. We just need to learn what the gift is and how to use it to the Glory of God.
7-A manifestation of the Spirit is given to each person to produce what is beneficial: 8- To one is given a message of wisdom through the Spirit, to another a message of Knowledge by the same Spirit, 9- To another faith by the same spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, 10- To another the performing of miracles to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits to another different kinds of languages, to another interpretation of languages..1 Corinthians 12:7-10.

Pray Expectantly

Posted by bli63 on April 24, 2008

.We expect a lot from those we know, and they expect a lot from us. We want to come through for one another. Jesus expected to eat figs from a fig tree. When Jesus saw the tree was barren. He declared it would never bear fruit again. The tree immediately withered while Jesus disciples looked on in amazement. Jesus was using the miracle to demonstrate Israels spiritual barrenness. Like the fig tree, Israel had great potential to bear spiritual fruit but would face destruction of its failure to do so. But what does the fig tree have to do with prayer?Jesus reminded the disciples that faith can work miracles, even the movement of mountains. Faith and prayer can make it possible to bear fruit for God. We are to expect great things in prayer. God will not disappoint us. All believers should want to live with that kind of expectant faith. And all things, whatsoever ye ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive. Matthew 21:22 [KJV]..

Small Things

Posted by bli63 on April 22, 2008

I’ve often noticed that those who share what they have, even when it’s barely enough for their own needs, enjoy life and the smallest things in the most. It is in the joy of sharing that they find personal satisfaction and get the double blessing of seeing how God works to bless others. John 6:11 And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would. As the young boy offered Jesus his meager lunch, most of the disciples scoffed at the idea that such a small amount of food would make much difference to the multitude. What they didn’t realize was the lesson Jesus was teaching them: the smallest gift in His hands becomes through His power, completely adequate for the task at hand. Even the smallest gift in His hands may become a miraculous source of supply for someone else.

Walk In The Spirit

Posted by bli63 on April 21, 2008

Many of us have read the old poem footprints in the sand. It tells of a mans dream whereby he saw footprints in the sand, sometimes two sets other times only one. He questioned the Lord about this. The Lords reply was to the effect that when the man suffered or fell, and saw only one set of footprints— Thats when the Lord carried him. Gods Spirit is always with the believer. Sometimes our walk may appear to deviate from from the footprints He has laid down for us, but He is ever present. When we walk in the Spirit our walk is a lot smoother and our Christian testimony is stronger. When we cultivate His presence we can live a richer, fuller, and more productive life. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Galatians 5:25

By Gods Grace

Posted by bli63 on April 20, 2008

As we come upon another sunday, I was reading some verses out of the book of Titus that we should keep in mind. Titus 2:11-15 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men. 12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldily lusts, we should live soberly, righiteously, and godly, in this present world. 13 Looking for that blessed hope. and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purfify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. 15 These things speak. and exhort and rebuke with all authority. let no man despise thee. 3:7 That being justified by his grace we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. It is by Gods grace that we are saved. We should be overwhelmed with joy for the love that God has for the world that he gave His only begotten Son for our sins. Give Him all the praise and glory for ever, worship Him constantly. I hope every one has a great day in the Lord, as in each and every day. In Jesus name. Amen.

Merciful Kindness

Posted by bli63 on April 18, 2008

Nearly two thousand years ago, Jesus told His small number of disciples that someday the gospel would be preached to the whole world… And this Gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; then shall the end come. Matthew 24:14… At the time, it seemed like an impossible undertaking. However, we see today that Gods merciful kindness has extended to the furthest reaches of the globe. Psalm 117 is one of the most unique chapters in Gods word. It is both the shortest chapter and the middle chapter of the Bible. May it remind us to praise God for His missionary heart and pray for those who are making sacrifices in other lands to make His love known. For his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the Lord endureth forever. Praise ye the Lord. Psalm 117:2….

From Death To Life

Posted by bli63 on April 16, 2008

Jesus said to Martha after her brother Lazarus died, I am the ressurection, and the life: he that believeth in me though he were dead, yet shall he live. The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree. Acts 5:30… Even as Jesus was resurrected, so will believers be raised in the last days to to live with him eternally. let us be sure we are ready for that wonderful day.Thank you, Father, for your promise of life after death in eternity with you.
