Our nation has been blessed over the years of its history with great philanthropists who have, out of their great wealth, given lots of money to charitable causes. Sometimes they they have inspired others of us to make donations to charities. However none of them have been so generous as to give up all their wealth, even for causes in which they believed deeply. Few if any of us would give all we have to someone else, even if they needed our help. In contrast , the Lord Jesus had all of heaven and earth at His disposal. He had no lack of anything of value. Yet this Christ of God gave up all that for the sake of creatures who did not know Him or care for Him. He had lived among us with no estate, no wealth, and nor even a place of His own to lay His head at night. He did all this because of the great love He has for each one of us… For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich. 2 Corinthians 8:9

Hope?
Posted by bli63 on February 27, 2008
There is is a light at the end of the tunnel. It does not matter how bad things may seem. There is hope for every one who believes, there is the promise that Jesus made to all of us.- John 3:21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. Hope- John 14:1 Let your heart not be troubled: ye believe in God believe also in me.14:2 In my fathers house are many mansions if it were not so I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And here is the promise. 14:3- And if I go and prepare a place for you. I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am you may be also. That is where I want to be, where He is.

Words
Posted by bli63 on February 26, 2008
Words, there two kinds, pleasant words and bad words. If we meet some one on the street or shopping or where ever we might be. We can do one or two things. we can say a pleasant good day how are you? or we can mutter I wish you would get out of my way, I’m in a hurry. Sometimes we just don’t slow down and think. A pleasant word or two might mean a lot to someone who is feeling poorly or is having a bad day. I have found that most people respond to pleasant words with a smile back and answer. The Bible teaches us to let our light shine through Jesus, and this is just one more way to show the love Jesus has for all His children. Psalms 16:24 Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul and health to the bones.

Worship
Posted by bli63 on February 24, 2008
I am looking foward to another great day of worship and fellowship. It is so great to be able to go to our church and worship our dear Saviour Jesus Christ, and fellowship with our brothers and sisters in Christ. Psalm 57:9-11… I will praise thee O LORD, among the people; I will sing unto thee among the nations 10- For thy mercy is great unto the heavens, and thy truth unto the clouds.-11 Be thou exalted O God above the heavens; let thy glory be above all the earth. Where ever you are and what ever you are doing. Have a great day as in everyday In the Lord.

Getting Fed?
Posted by bli63 on February 23, 2008
A sister came to church for a while and then just quit coming. I asked her why she just quit. I was told that she did not get fed. That the preaching was not dynamic enough. I said well to get fed you have to pick up a spoon., to that she replied that she did not want to be bothered about it anymore. I told her I would not ask her anymore. She isn’t going to church anywhere. She is a great singer and I think she has been saved. She has been in and out of church for years. Her husband is a music minister at a church. And also teaches a class. This woman has so much to offer but declines to work for the Lord. I pray that she starts to use her God given talent again for the Lord. What do you think? …For ye were sometimes in darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light. Ephesians 5:8

Act Wisely
Posted by bli63 on February 22, 2008
The definition of wisdom depends on who’s defining it. Many people who live worldly ways tend to characterize wisdom as situational. People make choices that are best for them without regard for others…. And the LORD gave Solomon wisdom, as he promised him and there was Peace between Hiram and Solomon and they two made a league together. 1 Kings 5:12. Godly wisdom is different. Proverbs 9:10 states The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Only by knowing God can we begin to know his ways and act accordingly. God gave Solomon wisdom because he desired to know God above all else. Wisdom brought Solomon prosperity. Wisdom gave Solomon the ability to act in ways that brought peace to his relationships with others. When we spend enough time with God know Him intimately, He will grant us wisdom. James 1:5 states that if we want wisdom , all we have to do is ask for it.

Love And Praise
Posted by bli63 on February 20, 2008
Have you ever heard anyone say I will forgive them but I will never forget? What if God had that attitude toward us? What if He defined love in the same way? we would be in big trouble.__7-Beloved let us love one another. For love is of God: and everyone that loveth is born, and knoweth God. 8–He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. 1 John 4:7-8 1Corinthians 13, teaches us that love behaves itself and does not seek its own. Love is kind.In this passage of scripture the words for love are taken from the Greek word agape meaning as a love that prizes its object above other things, with an unwillingness to abandon the object. [Thayers Greek lexicon]..That describes how much God loves us–with a love that died for us when He didn’t deserve it. We can ignore God, disobey Him, and mock Him; yet He will love us. we can’t truly know God without experiencing His love, and we know God when we love others……—Gods Word tells us that there are rewards when we praise Him. To focus on all He is, how He provides for us, and how , and how He fulfills His promises helps us maintain healthy states of mind and emotions. We need to remember that He is worthy of praise even if everything is not perfect as we thank it should be. Are we persistent in our praise to God? If we accept the truth that praising God persistently is a worthy practice, and make that practice a priority we will be glad we did.

Servants Of The Lord
Posted by bli63 on February 19, 2008
As Christian’s we should all be good servants of the Lord. And to the best of our ability do the commandments that Jesus gave us to live by. Every one knows the first Commandment. Love the Lord thy God with all thy heart and all thy soul. And of course the second. Love thy brother as thyself. When we practice these very important commandments the rest will come. Then we are good servants of the Lord. 2 timothy 24-26 And the servant of the Lord must not strive, but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient. 25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; 26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will. So if we have the love that Jesus tells us to have in our heart, and teach and minister to the lost we all can be good servants of the Lord Our Saviour Jesus Christ. Praise God that by the blood of Jesus we can do so. Serving Jesus our Lord for ever.

God Is Our Salvation
Posted by bli63 on February 17, 2008
What is the absolutely worst think you’ve ever done? Maybe we should define worst. Have you ever been convicted of a crime? No? You must not be to bad. Does anyone hate you? No? So you must be a nice person. But everyone has made mistakes and has a past defined on human scale. We all have sinned against God. He knew we would fall to temptations, but sent His Son to die for us anyway. On our best days we are far from Gods perfection. Human logic defies an answer to why God would give up His Son to suffer for sinners. The answer is love. Toward the sinner who tells a little white lie to the one who is most destitute and corrupt, God commends His love. That’s the God who we serve. He is our salvation!… [But God commandeth his love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8]

Doers Of The Word
Posted by bli63 on February 16, 2008
We hear the words of God but we don’t always do what we hear. A preacher can preach his heart out but if we are preoccupied with other thoughts or problems we just simply don’t comprehend what he is saying, so we don’t get the message that we are supposed to get. so we hear but we don’t do. James 1:22-23 But be ye doers of the Word and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. 23-For if any be a hearer of the Word and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass. In other words there are no changes we simply just don’t do any thing. We all need to continue to be doers of Gods wonderful Word. I am glad to be a doer for our precious Saviour Jesus Our Lord”
