Promises are easy made but sometimes hard to keep. We promise all kind of things, but sadly human promises are not always kept which can lead to all kinds of problems. Gods promises are different, we find one in Acts 1:4 that is from Jesus Himself, Creator of the universe and now resurrected Savior. What was this promise? He promised His disciples that they didn’t have to go through life alone. He promised He would send the Holy Spirit to equip them for their task. Did He deliver absolutely. We can be comforted in knowing that He will keep every other promise the Scriptures contain and there are many…Act 1:4 and, being assembled together with them, he charged them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which, said he, ye heard from me:

What Can We Count On?
Posted by bli63 on July 10, 2009
There is not many people are things we can count on these days. We can’t count on many politicians, very few doctors, not to many friends especially when it comes to money. Even some religious leaders may let us down. The lust of the world, money, and other things come before what is really important. Love for one another and love for Jesus. Also the promise of eternal salvation. That is something we can all be sure of and count on..Ephesians 5:2 and walk in love, even as Christ also loved you, and gave himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for an odor of a sweet smell.

Gods Word Is Forever
Posted by bli63 on July 7, 2009
Many of the things around us grow older and loose their usefulness. And we aren’t very old before we realize how fragile and how brief our own lives are. Where can we find stability and lasting truth? We can find it in Gods unchanging Word. His Word will remain though all else may fail./ There will never be a time when we cannot put our total faith in His Word. I don’t know where I would be without Gods Word. What about you?….The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the Word of God shall stand forever. Isaiah 40:8

Hate or Love?
Posted by bli63 on July 4, 2009
Some people just love to hate. They will hate you because of your color or your race, your religion, belief in politics, because you may have a difference of opinion than them. They just love to hate. Although they may say we don’t hate! You can tell by their talk that really they do. The Bible teaches us we must love one another. We don’t have to like the ways of some especially if they aren’t following the ways of our Lord. Never the less we must have love in our hearts if we really want to be good Christians…Matthew 5:44 But I say to you, love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you, Matthew 5:46 For if you love those who love you, what reward will you have? Even the tax collectors do the same, don’t they?

God Is Love
Posted by bli63 on June 28, 2009
People of the world see God’s love demonstrated every day, whether they acknowledge it or not— in creation, or a baby’s cry, in the recorded acts of Jesus and His disciples [ if they read the Bible] and in the lives of Christians around the globe. Yes, the world may see Gods love, but knowing and believing it is another thing. As Christian, you have the priceless privilege of Knowing and believing love. This implies a vital union between the Christian and God. Through Christ we can become increasingly like God in our love, which should be our hearts desire. It is in Christ that we can actually know what God is like. There is no love like compares to the everlasting unconditional love Jesus demonstrated on the cross. How staggering to think that this kind of love is perfected, or reaching its aim in us…1John 4:16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.

Fast Paced Life
Posted by bli63 on June 24, 2009
We are living in a very fast paced world. Everything is right now we can’t wait we want right now. Internet is geared to high speed right now I’m on dial up as my wireless is down and it is very very slow. Not so long ago we thought a connection of 56kbs was fast. We seem to keep speeding things up cars, boats, planes, trains, televisions, everything is fast. I wonder if we realize how fast our lives will be over? It is very important that we are saved and lead a Christian life so we can inherit the greatest gift of all time eternal life. This life will soon be over one way or another. We need to be ready now..John 3:36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.

Father:
Posted by bli63 on June 21, 2009
J. Wilbur Chapman, perhaps the finest evangelist the Presbyterian church has known, once told in a message that he had just heard of a father who came into the bedroom where his young son lay dying. The boy had been ill for so long that his body was badly wasted. It was painful for him even to lie on the bed. As the father entered, the boy said, “Daddy, lift me up for a moment.” The father put his hands under the emaciated body and raised his son just a little off the bed. “Lift me higher,” he said, “Daddy, lift me higher.” The father lifted him up until he held him above his head. When he took him down, the boy was dead. It would seem as if that father had actually lifted his son into the very arms of Christ. When Dr. Chapman concluded the service, a man came up to him with tears in his eyes and said, “Dr. Chapman, it happened just as you said. I went into his room. My minister was with me, I lifted him up, and his weak voice came back to me in whispers saying, “Higher, Daddy, higher.” When I took him down, he had gone. But, sir, I had lifted him into the arms of Christ long before, for when he was a very small boy I taught him of a Savior’s love, and told him what it means to be a Christian.”..Ephesians 4:6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

Story Of Kindness

Kindness, Examples Of: How The Fine Was Paid
Once, when Mr. LaGuardia, the famous ex-mayor of New York, was presiding at a police court, they brought a trembling old man before him, charged with stealing a loaf of bread. He said his family was starving. “Well, I’ve got to punish you,” said Mr. LaGuardia. “The law makes no exception, and I can do nothing but sentence you to a fine of ten dollars.” Then he added, after reaching into his pocket, “and here’s the ten dollars to pay your fine. Now I remit the fine.” Then, tossing the ten-dollar bill into his famous outsize hat, he said, “Furthermore, I’m going to fine everybody in this courtroom fifty cents, for living in a town where a man has to steal bread in order to eat. Mr. Bailiff, collect the fines, and give them to this defendant.” The hat was passed, and an incredulous old man, with a light of Heaven in his eyes, left the courtroom with forty-seven dollars and fifty cents.

By God’s Grace
Posted by bli63 on June 14, 2009
As we come upon another Sunday, I was reading some verses out of the book of Titus that we should keep in mind. Titus 2:11-15 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men. 12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world. 13 Looking for that blessed hope. and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. 15 These things speak and exhort and rebuke with all authority. let no man despise thee. 3:7 That being justified by his grace we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. It is by Gods grace that we are saved. We should be overwhelmed with joy for the love that God has for the world that he gave His only begotten Son for our sins. Give Him all the praise and glory for ever, worship Him constantly. I pray every one has a great day in the Lord, as in each and every day. In Jesus name. Amen.
